How shoud I go about pleading not guilty if I dont agree with my charges?

I have to go to court on tuesday for having a concealed weapon and breech of peace. I feel like the charges are not fair and I dont want this to be on my record. I was not allowed to explain myself and I have never been arrested before. I want to plead not guilty. What should I do? Please help!
