My dog is old and is anemic. Surgery the answer?

Doc says bone marrow or something attacking kidney,. so levels are high. Surgery the answer?? Shes 17 yrs old. She is eating. and playing w/ her stuffed animals. But I want her live longer! Any natural remedies, surgery is pricy and could be fatal at her age.
