Why did the english want to Colonize North America?

The english wanted to colonise everywhere, basically because they wanted as much power and wealth as possible and were prepared to kill innocent people and move them from their homes in order to do so. North America had resources such as oil and labour which Britain did not have, so they tried to colonise it.
