What is the lifestyle in LA like compared to San Francisco?

I'm thinking about taking a job in LA (Hollywood) next year but I don't know if I would be miserable living there. I love San Francisco so much but I do need to work lol. I'm 25, vegetarian/semi-vegan, kind of the "hipster" type. I'm not much on tanning and anorexia and celebrities that are famous for nothing.
