Is Christianity evolving?

There is clearly a difference between liberal and fundamental Christianity. On one hand you have liberal christians who accept s and scientific theories and facts. They encourage intellectualism, free thought, and peace and love between all individuals. In addition, they tend to take the bible symbolically and metaphorically. On the other hand you have fundamentalist christians, who take the bible as the inerrant, literal word of god. They typically claim faith is the ultimate virtue, that questioning the bible is blasphemy, that all uals and so-called "sinners" are going to hell. It is often an exclusive, divisive group. Also, fundamentalist christians claim that liberal churches are "worldly" in a pejorative sense, and that they aren't "real" christians. My question is: is Christianity evolving? Is fundamentalism fading away and is liberalism replacing it, or is the converse happening? What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance for your answers.
