Can a muslim man date a muslim girl?

I am a 19 year old college student. I pray 5 times a day, fast, read quran, give charity ($20 a month is about as much as I can afford), and I am a virgin and have never been on a date before. But, there is a muslim girl in one of my cles who I want to get to know. Is it okay for me to ask her to have lunch or dinner with me. Before anyone says no, be sure that I will not have premarital . That is out of the question. But if I want to say marry someone at some point in my life, I need to be able to get to know them at some point. Thanks.
